Look Number One

Preppy is the way to go when in doubt about what to wear. It's different from a lot of the bohemian and beachy trends that take over during the season. This was one of my favorite preppy looks I found, and it can easily be created with a few basic pieces, starting with the basic button up. the sheer material is lightweight, so it is perfect for the weather. Instead of going out and buying another shirt with a tie in the front, take a small neck scarf and tie it around your neck. Thin neck scarfs can add a lot of class to a look and even a pop of color if you pick out a colorful patterned one. Next, add your favorite circle skirt, and top it off with a cute fedora to keep the sun out of your eyes.

This seventies inspired look is so adorable. Seventies trends are so big right now, so try going with something a little less popular, like some super high wasted soft shorts. The tied belt detailing looks so adorable, and the silhouette of the shorts will give anyone some chic curves. The top is equally as essential. Take this summer season opportunity to show off some bright pastel patterns. Just go for any fun and loud shirt to pair with the shorts and then some jewelry for the finishing touches.

Before you scream at the thought of wearing long pants during the summer, for not! For these are linen! Linen is such a breezy and lightweight material, which makes it perfect for the warmer months. I think this is probably the easiest look to achieve. For this simple street style, pair some patterned, high wasted linen pants with a simple t-shirt and some heeled sandals. The high waste of the pants will make it much more glam, and it's perfect for a day out in town. Check out ASOS.com and Madewell for some cute pants. They might just turn into an essential summer piece for you.

Maxi dresses are hit or miss for me, but this one is to die for! It has all of the essentials for me when it comes to a maxi dress. First, I like when they have a slit along the side. Not only does it allow you to show your beautifully tanned legs, but it also allows for more air flow so you won't get as sweaty under the material. Second, this is an off-the-shoulder dress, which again helps with keeping you cool. Allowing a little more skin to show up top can keep you a little cooler, as well as giving you excuse to show off your decolletage.
I hope I've given you a little inspiration for your summer wardrobe. Comment your favorite outfit!
