Lazy Day Essentials: Beauty Edition

I believe that everyone deserves a lazy day every once in a while. Though it's important to keep going and be productive, every person needs a little bit of time to just relax and care for themselves. This edition of the Lazy Day Essentials is all about beauty stuff. I have a DIY face mask, a nail care routine, and a DIY lip scrub to do on your time off. Pull on your favorite cozy PJs and grab yourself a hot cup of tea. Let's get started!

DIY Face Mask

I like to start out with a face mask so that it can stay on as long as possible. After turning on your favorite Netflix show, grab a bottle of olive oil. Yes olive oil. It is an amazing natural anti-bacterial product for acne prone skin and oily skin, but it is also very hydrating on the skin. Apply the olive oil to your skin and allow it to set anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Then rinse it off.

Nail Care

Most people don't tend to have a lot of time to take care of their nails. Take this time to use a hand scrub (just mix baking soda with a little bit of water) to remove all of the dead skin cells and dryness around your hands and fingers. Then apply a rich moisturizer and cuticle cream (Use Vaseline if you don't have a cuticle cream.). If you like to paint your nails, apply your favorite base coat, a fun nail color, and a strong top coat.

DIY Lip Scrub

Lastly, lips tend to get very dry during the winter time. Using a lip scrub will remove all of the dead skin that peals off so that you can apply a lip balm over top. To make your own lip scrub, mix one part honey, one part coconut oil, and one part brown sugar in a small container. Take a small amount on your finger and rub all over your lips. Take a towel to remove the excess scrub, and then apply a nice lip balm.

Stay classy,
Molly
